They’re my favorite “monsters”. Have been since I first saw Romero’s The Night of the Living Dead at the impressionable age of five. Hard to believe this classic was filmed over 40 years ago. Made on a budget, which is kinda evident, it rocks—it does exactly what it sets out to do and that’s startle the <bleep> outta you. Many zombie flicks have come and gone since then, but none seem to scream fright like that one.
The simple concept that radioactive contagion or some plague may be the reason for the dead becoming un-dead doesn’t seem implausible. Truth is stranger than fiction it’s said—as was the dream I had last night. Zombies crept into my sleep world, caught me, and ate me.
Now what inspired that . . . ?
