“A faith worth having is a faith worth sharing.”
There is one story/passage for each calendar day, and they are definitely worth sharing. They’re inspirational and give pause for thought. And yes, they are Biblically oriented, which I recognize can make some people feel awkward.
There’s always some degree of motivation or encouragement in the writers’short and simple tales, be they anecdotes about family, friends, or even strangers. Sometimes I’m even a smidgen wiser, and gratefully so. Nothing awkward about that.
Sun-ups begin with the reading of one daily designated page. It’s become practice. In the very rare instance I’ve forgotten to open “Our Daily Bread”, I feel as if I missed putting on an article of clothing or a piece of jewelry.
Even if you’re not a committed Christian, there’s a little something within each story you can reflect upon or learn from. It’s sustenance for the mind, soul, and heart. It truly is . . . our daily bread.
